Madama Butterfly and Orfeo


Karol Kozłowski performed the role of Goro in the staged concert version of Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece Madama Butterfly that was held on the 15th of June 2019 at the Parade Square in Warsaw. This unprecedented enterprise has been set up by the Studio Theatre. The title character was portrayed by Aleksandra Kurzak who thus made her role debut. She was accompanied by the superb cast including Roberto Alagna, Andrzej Dobber and Monika Ledzion-Porczyńska. The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Choir were conducted by Marcello Mottadelli. The show was directed by Natalia Korczakowska with the costumes designed by Marek Adamski.

This weekend on the 19th and 20th July 2019 Karol Kozłowski will come back to sing the eponymous role in Claudio Monteverdi’s Orfeo. The performances will be held in the Great Assembly Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw as a part of the Festival of the Royal Polish Opera. The orchestra of ancient instruments Capella Regia Polona will be conducted by her leader and harpsichordist Krzysztof Garstka.
