Orfeo at the Royal Castle


On the 24th of February 2019 in the Great Assembly Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw Karol Kozłowski will make his debut in the role of Orfeo in the opera by Claudio Monteverdi. This will be performance of the Polish Royal Opera, and also an important part of the Vasa Year’s 2019 celebration at the Royal Castle. The opera was supposed to be directed by Ryszard Peryt, that unfortunately had passed away shortly before the beginning of rehearsals. The staging was taken up by Sławomir Jurczak (Ryszard Peryt’s assistant) and Romana Agnel that directed the choreography. The costumes were designed by Marlena Skoneczko. The musical director is the harpsichordist Krzysztof Garstka. He will lead the orchestra of ancient instruments Capella Regia Polona, the soloists and the choir. The premiere will start at 6 pm. The following performances will be held on the 26th and the 27th of February 2019 at 7 pm.
