Karol Kozłowski in Ludomir Różycki’s opera ‘Casanova’


The concert performance of the comic opera Casanova composed by Ludomir Różycki took place at the Warsaw Philharmonic on the 10th and 11th of January 2020. The piece had its world premiere in 1923 and soon after gained extreme popularity in Poland but became almost forgotten in the post-war era. This year’s revival of the opera was conducted by Łukasz Borowicz who led the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir as well as Poland’s most eminent opera singers i.a. Wioletta Chodowicz, Mikołaj Zalasiński and Aleksandra Kubas- Kruk. The title character was sung by Piotr Kalina. Karol Kozłowski performed two minor roles: Ismail Pasha and King Stanislaus Augustus, King of Poland.
